The monster that did that wasn’t her friend. Mira couldn’t control her fear of Ivory or the images in her head, but she made it known she forgave her. It’s sickening that Ivory can’t remember killing Mira’s family and turning her, but it also showcases forgiveness’s importance. There’s been a lot of death on the show since the series began, but Mira decapitating herself is one that sticks with me. Her death makes me distraught because she sat and dealt with the pain of those feelings by herself before they became too much to bear. Her fear of the darkness and being around Ivory caused her to be in constant torture, freezing up multiple times at the moment. Mira’s death hits different because her entire human existence after vampirism is spent in fear. Mira’s Last Breath (Season 5 Episode 5) VAN HELSING - “Sisterhunt” Episode 505 - Pictured: Briana Skye as Mira Throughout the season’s Doc has been through enough trauma to last a lifetime, which makes her ending with Jolene that much more beautiful. Jolene and Doc’s reunion has been long-awaited since the end of Season 3 and has been one of the best-loved relationships on the show. I am thrilled, however, that she is seen again before the series finale came about, and she’s able to end it with a joyous moment. I wish I could say I’m surprised, but she was treated the same way in Season 4 as well. It’s upsetting that Doc, the woman who has been with Vanessa and Axel through most of the hard times in the series, is only seen twice throughout the last season. Jolene and Doc’s Happy Ever After (Season 5 Episode 4) Season 5 Episode 4, “State of the Union.” Rukiya Bernard as Doc and Caroline Cave as Jolene. Jesse Daniels brings a new twist to her character that we’ve known for the past four seasons and executes it phenomenally. I love how in one season, this character that has brought nothing but pain and suffering can suddenly blossom into something new and unexpected. But, in actuality, Bathory’s family plays an integral part in destroying the dark one. Until this moment, it’s believed that Bathory had always been on the Dark One’s side. It makes our whole thought process about her change. One of my favorite things is getting to see origin stories of characters you might typically never expect to want.īathory’s origin story makes us look at the loathed character from a different angle as new information about her past comes to light. Going back in time to the beginning of the Dark One is an exciting start to the season on its own, but Bathory’s past woven into the storyline is the best twist there is. Bathory the Vampire Hunter (Season 5 Episode 1) VAN HELSING - “Past Tense” Episode 501 - Pictured: Jesse Stanley as Bathory In chronological order, here are our top moments from Van Helsing Season 5: 1. If you haven’t already binged the series last season, you should do so before continuing, as there are spoilers all throughout the article. There’s love, death, reincarnation, unification, and so much gore what’s not to love? The season gets more complex as it progresses and forces us to go through a wide range of emotions as new friends are made, and loved ones are lost. We are immediately thrown into the fire as the season kicks off with a time jump, forcing Jack back in time a few centuries. They also learn that Jacob’s totem – a vial of the Dark One’s blood that Scarlett wears around her neck – has been in their possession all along.Van Helsing Season 5 delivers everything and more as the series comes to an end, and our favorite characters work to defeat the Dark One once and for all. They soon discover the third Elder is none other than former vampire hunter Jacob Van Helsing (Michael Eklund) – the twin brother of Abraham and therefore their great-great-great granduncle. By the eighth episode (“Crooked Steps”) of the season, the sisters had killed two Elders and set about finding the third who they track down to a remote island off the West Coast. Vanessa and Scarlett’s hunt for the Elders formed much of the action in Van Helsing season 3. Related: Van Helsing Season 2 Ending Explained Together with her twin sister Scarlett (Missy Peregrym), Vanessa resolves to find the Elders and take their totems so she can release the Dark One herself and kill it once and for all. When these totems are brought together they will release the Dark One – the ruler of all vampires – who will bring about an event known as the “final darkness” that will spell the end of humanity. In the Van Helsing season 3 premiere Vanessa learns there are four vampires known as Elders, each of whom possess a totem.
